Why not create a nose-users list on python.org, and deprecate this list?
I, for one, am not a huge fan of the way archiving works on on
python.org lists. Also, another python.org list I'm on experiences
sporadic delays where one or two messages won't get delivered for up
to 5 hours and it creates all sorts of confusing replies. Grass is
always greener I suppose.
All the google groups I'm on got hit with the same spam so it was a
calculated attack. Aside from this recent outbreak Google Groups had
actually squashed spam for a lengthy period. However, yeah, it's
pretty annoying. Hopefully they are hard at work figuring out how to
prevent what hit them so hard :)

I don't know what Google does after-the-fact to respond to spam reports, but
in my experience it seems to be "not much". I reported as spam an obviously
spammy post to another group three times over the past week. It's still
there.

Bah. I also reported mails here as spam in the hope this leads to
others not getting the spam mail. Maybe "social spam-marking" isn't
implemented yet? :)
