There will be six, count 'em, six Balkan ensembles performing at a benefit dance for Northwest Folklife this Friday at the Russian Cultural Center in Seattle.
Wonderful musical variety at a great price (and 100% goes to Folklife).

Here's the approximate schedule:
8:00 - Druzhba plays village music on gajda and drum
8:30 - Orkestar RTW plays popular dance music from all over the Balkans
9:30 - Mini-concert:
- Radost Folk Ensemble members perform the Bulgarian dance Chetvorno
- Dave and the Dalmatians sing klapa and other Eastern European men's songs
- Members of Dunava perform women's songs from the Balkans
10:15 - Balkanarama plays popular Balkan dances with a Rom flavor
So... get good and warmed up on the dance floor, then take a break to see and hear some fine performers, then dance some more - Balkanarama will play until 11:30 or so. See you there!
