Speakers and Bands for '08!

Alrighty... its time to get some brainstorming done for the '08
speakers and bands for SL!

Post them either here or on the facebook page and we'll collect them
all and start to develop the shortlist.

2 ideas I had for speaker:
1. David Nassar: Grew up Muslim, became a Christian later in life. Has
an incredible testimony and can connect with teenagers really well.
2. Steve Fitzhugh: Ex-pro football player, started a mission to
underpriviledged teens in DC. Can speak about social justice issues
and challenge our students to think outside themselves.

Those guys sound cool. I don't know too many speakers.
I saw Jon Gillis from elifeministries. He's a white guy that grew up
in church, but speaks on cultural christianity vs. authentic
christianity.

I think either of the options you set out here Chris are good. both
would help meet our goal to offer a new voice, from a person who helps
celebrate the diversity of the body. i've not heard of Fitzhugh, but
from what I've seen of Nassar, his message would line up perhaps more
squarely with some of the conversation that came up in our meeting
yesterday, while the story of his life/testimony would provide the
challenge.

I think Jon Gillis should stay on the plate until we find out some
more details in reference to cost, etc. of the two you mentioned.
