Makai Pool Update

The Makai pool has been discussed at several prior meetings.  Summary of the points made are:

• The pool was constructed by the Makai Golf Course to fulfill contractual obligations to the Westin Hotel
• Consequently, it was not built as a replacement for the old "community pool".  It is not owned by the Community.  It is a private pool owned by the Makai Golf Course.
  
• It's believed that the Westin usage of the pool will be light
• So there is the possibility that memberships will be offered to the community in the future
  
• The pool received its Certificate of Occupancy last week

The pool is now scheduled to be open by Nov. 8 for the Westin guests.  The Makai management would like to see what kind of usage there is for both Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Assuming the usage is not heavy during this period, it's anticipated that community memberships will become available at the beginning of the new year.
