Anyone got any use for one or more Cisco Serial to RJ45 console cables ?
We've got about 40 of them lying about after a major switch installation and i've been told to bin most of them as they are surplus to requirements

Anyone want one before they are wasted ?

I can't remember what it is but it is old, very old. 10-Base-T to
serial I believe. I think it is fare to say it is not Gigabit
compatible. Just can't bring myself to throw it out.

LOL aye.  That's very much you all over - old hardware really means very Very VERY old hardware.  I bet you have an MFM controller and maybe even a Winchester disk knocking about your flat :D :D (And probably serving your needs somehow!)

Haha, you know your old computer bits Glen! :) Think the first server I pay at school housed an RLL drive and controller.

I might have two working MFM drives and an old winchester disk at my
parents. No RLL. I also have a third MFM drive on display in the
living room as it is more beautiful than art. It might be old but it
is still cool in my head. :-)

Doesn't the classic internal FDD interface use some flavour of MFM?  If so, I've and MFM drive too :)  RLL is properly Stone Age though, so no surprises about you not having something along those lines in your armoury.  I'm actually impressed you have a Winchester disk though!

Winchester is an old one from Newcastle University given to me in the 1980s.
