Morning everyone,

I'm not that free this saturday. I'm not sure what the crack is with other keyholders but i can only come in and open up. I'm not free to stay long, and i'll be going to Middlesbrough at some point in the afternoon. Is one of the other people free to come in and close up in the afternoon?

I am afraid I will be away all day.

Also of note the cinema will be open again so we will not need to set the alarm when we leave.

Does anyone have a tool that would be any good at prizing/spreading apart two very well jammed together bits of metal?

The bits of metal are the light module of my reassuringly bright bike light.  The unit has gone faulty due to a broken copper wire that has fatigued from all the vibration.  Bad design in my opinion!

There is a shallow brass cylinder that fits inside a larger aluminium cylinder.  When I say fit, it's not fitting as much as sitting jammed in at an angle :)  I don't know what factory worker hooligan did this but it means I can't get access to the broken thing inside to make a repair.  Pictures attached...

So

Erm...pressed Send instead of Save :D I was going to finish off by saying...

SO, if anyone has some sort of tool that is able to apply a decent amount of spreading force with a decent 'purchase' in the gap of the cylinder wall (as shown in the pictures), I would appreciate the loan of said tool from you to make separation happen!!! :)

ALSO...realised there was no appreciable size comparison, so here's yet another shot on a normal PC Keyboard with a 5a 240v fuse for good measure.

Thanks in advance,

Jonbon.

Hurrah, got the thing apart but looks like something else is damaged electronically seeing as when I now attach the faulty connection, the light is rather dim.  Whatever next...
