Subject: Aggravated Burglary - 1700 Block Marais Street
On Saturday May 8, 2010 at approximately 7:27 am police responded to a
residence burglary in the 1700 block of Marais Street. It was learned
the victim was asleep in a rear bedroom when she heard a loud noise
coming from the kitchen area which is near the rear door. The victim
stated she did not get up to check on the noise because it was assumed
the roommate was coming in
.
As the noise continued the victim decided to check on the noise and
discovered two unknown black males standing in the kitchen.Subject #
one was armed with an unknown type handgun. Subject # 2 stood behind
subject #1.

Subject # one ordered the victim to be quiet as a scream was made to
the room-mate. As the room-mate entered the kitchen, subject number
one advised him to be quiet. Subject # one fired one shot into the
door. Both subjects fled the location on foot through the rear yard.

A spent casing was located inside the residence.

Subject #1 - Black Male, 5'8" white t-shirt - unknown type handgun
Subject #2 - Black male - no other description provided

This ivestigation is ongoing.
