Louisiana slide-guitar master Sonny Landreth came to prominence
playing in the band of Zydeco king Clifton Chenier. As an in-demand
session and touring player, Landreth has contributed to the work of
John Hiatt, Kenny Loggins and John Mayall, among others. His 2000
album "Levee Town" has recently been reissued with bonus tracks.
Performing songs from 2008's "From the Reach," as well as a yet-to-be-
released track called "Groovy Goddess," Landreth is joined by longtime
band members Dave Ranson on bass and Brian Brignac on drums for his
seventh appearance on Mountain Stage. As Landreth showcases his swamp-
rock and Cajun grooves, his Deep South upbringing shows itself when he
whips the crowd into frenzy with "Uberesso."
