Artists Extend GRAMMY Limelight and Score New Round of Gold and
Platinum Awards
Loosely dubbed the "GRAMMY effect," quadruple-winning rapper Lil Wayne
saw a February sales bump on his summer release after the 51st annual
ceremony. Tha Carter, Vol. 3 was certified 3x-Platinum and remains the
highest-selling of his Cash Money career thus far.
In February, the RIAA awarded a total 19 albums, 31 digital singles
and 2 ringtones. All certifications are calculated by Gelfand, Rennert
