Hi,

We're looking to hire a developer to work primarily on projects targeting to NodeJS.

I can't give a ton of specifics on the mailing list, but some of the NodeJS stuff that Yahoo! engineers have been playing with of late include: YUI3/NodeJS integration, various things with Web Sockets, multipart parsing with node-formidable, and JavaScript test harnesses built on top of NodeJS. We've been building and releasing some really cool products of late (check out our new HTML5 mobile app at http://m.yahoo.com/mail if you have a chance) and we're looking to keep up the momentum with some stuff built on top of NodeJS.

Drop me a line if you're interested.

Thanks,
Peter

Sunnyvale, CA.

Remote work considered, but must be very strong, self-directed and all that jazz.

I'd apply, but I've already got a better offer...hopefully it works out. :)

It's nice to see how quickly the heavy-hitters are to adopt node--It's still very new, but I think it's a game-changer. :)

Oh, and San Diego, CA is also an option. I always seem to forget that we have a sizable contingent of Mail developers squirreled away down there.

Thanks to those of you who submitted resumes. I'll sort though them and start getting in touch with people next week.

Yahoo's a great company to work for. I was there for 4 years, and had
a blast. You'd get the chance to work with yinst, the magically
wonderful package manager I never stop raving about. People like to
complain about Yahoo, and it's certainly not perfect, but they
definitely do right by their engineers, as most yahoos can certainly
attest.

If you're in the market for a nodejs job, this is a good one.
Definitely check it out.

Hi Peter,
I haven't been able to keep up with the list of late and only had time to catch up today when I noticed this job offer.  I hope I'm not too late with my application although it sounds like you've already had quite a few...

I'm a developer with 18 years of experience building online apps and sites.  I've been following Node.js for almost a year and absolutely love it.  I'm currently living in Montreal but I'm in San Francisco regularly.  I have a couple of clients there and my father lives in Merin.  I'm also American.  I've attached my CV.  I specialize in online multiplayer games and content management systems.  I've also worked for Microsoft (at Softimage) and in NYC for Sotheby's (eCom).  Ideally, I'd like to work remotely but I can be in your offices when needed.  I think it would be really exciting to build a large scale application with node.js - would love to sink my teeth into something substantial with it.

Wow...  So sorry for spamming the list.  I thought I had removed the googlegroups email.  How embarassing.  :(

Don't be too embarrassed. It happens at least once with every email
job offer I've ever seen. ;)
