I'm a new user. Ramping up with some simple test networks, making sure
I understand what is going on.
Simple sounding of bass note, and a triad. Recorded into Logic.
Have multiple muted nodes with worm hole connections that will inject
pitch/velocity/duration variances, but variances all set to zero now
for testing.
What I noticed though is that the rendered triad in Logic does not
sound at the same time.
Looking at the midi position data I can see the triad positions :
1 4 3 202
1 4 3 217
1 4 3 233
But if the worm holes are truly zero time, the triad should have the
same position. And I can clear hear the notes not sounding at the same
instant. I was using IAC Driver Bus 1, and repeated the experiment
using the Nodal Output (same result) and Nodal Synthesizer (can hear
the same result).
My concern/question : Is the Nodal rendering done in real time ? If
so, could it be that muted nodes with worm hole connections introduce
delays ? If so, than is it true I can't really depend on the network
to render with precision, but there are dependencies on computing
speed, memory etc ? Or am I missing something. I would have thought
that the network is first partially rendered in non-real time to
ensure timing accuracy, and fed into a buffer for output.
Thanks all
