Please consider adding an option to disable a specific Voice Group
triangle.

First, I'll say, I'm doing this to work on a single sound in an drum
kit, while developing a rhythm 9but useful for any ensembles). I have
each element of the kit drawn as separate nodal routes; each of which
uses the same Voice Group/instrument. I would like to 'turn off'
routes while working/selecting voice elements.
Then I'll say, I have been doing this in a clumsy fashion with enable/
disable multiple Voice Groups, and node(s) mute on/off.

Thanks for any consideration/comment...

We did. This feature was added in version 1.7.
See the manual for details.

I have re-examined the manual and do not see the switch description.

Please be sure you understand what I'm describing. I create 3 routes
for Voice Group 1: A, B, and C. Each route has a Voice Group
Triangle(VCT) of say - blue.
I want to produce sound from any one or two of the routes, by setting
the other VCT(s) to 'silent'.

If this capability is present please point me to the manual page(s)
that describe its use.

TIA

I did find the functionality though!
Aidan Lane in reponse to Linda on 3 Nov 2010:
"You can start and stop voices by holding down the alt/option key
(which will make the triangles pulsate) and then clicking on the
corresponding triangle.
To start or stop multiple at the same time, select them and then
follow the same procedure as above, clicking on any of the triangles
in the section group.
"

Though this is not *exactly* working...

the first thing I saw was - with three routes running, alt/click on
one triangle, left one route running - not two; but the other(s) could
be started again, and the status is visible...

So this is a means to do what I was after
(AND I'll check the manual again)

Now that I know what I'm looking for, I can add a couple comments...

(I believe) The description of this functionality is in the 1.8 manual
tutorial on Page 15, under 'Voice Triggering'. It states "Voices can
be turned on and off independently of the play button. ", but then
immediately and subsequently refers to that as triggering.
Semantics, my excuse to not embrace that term for turning something
OFF, but the information IS here.
If there is another detailing of the function in the manual, I have
not found it.

There are minor proof-reading items in this tutorial section. There
are a couple numbered sections below the quote I gave above. It seems
there was a step removed somewhere, and the numbering doesn't match
the text now.
The text is:
You will notice it is possible to turn off voice
groups and then turn them back on using step
48.
When it really means to refer to:
47. Option-click (Mac) or Alt-click
(Windows) on a Voice Group Triangle.

There is another a little further on...
The text is:
Notice that the voice group you selected in
step 49 is not active when Nodal is playing.
When it really means to refer to:
48. Select a starting triangle and in the
Voice Group Inspector, enter a MIDI
pitch value (C3 for example) in the
MIDI Pitch List field as shown above.

================
I leave the original request there, unless someone has something to
add...
================

NEW - In addition (now that I know to use this):
It would be nice if the route enable/disable I configured, was
persistent across use of the play/pause control.
I have mixed feelings; but could understand if, pressing the 'rewind'
button - returned all voice groups to their defined state. That gives
a quick way to revert, while not forcing me to re-defined what's
playing, every time I stop playing to make node edits.

Yes, you're right about the two references being out by 1 in this
section on p. 15 of the manual.
The reference to step 48 should be 47, and 49 should be 48. Thanks for
picking this up.
Regards,

Jon
