Industrial Communications Engineer

Multi-disciplinary project teams are responsible for the complete product
development trajectory from concept to production prototype for industrial
products for the European and world-wide market. The FA Communications Group
is responsible for the technology required to support industrial
communication networks. The focus of its group members is on so called 'open
fieldbus' systems, which allow devices of different manufacturers to be
connected to a single communication bus. This relatively young area of
Factory Automation is still expanding rapidly, with ever more specialised
bus systems for specific applications.
Being one of our specialists in the field of industrial data communications,
it is of vital importance that you will be keeping up to date with the
latest trends and will maintain contacts with international organisations
for standardisation. You will take part in the development of new
communication interfaces for open network and fieldbus systems tuned to the
European market needs, concentrating on e.g. PROFIBUS-DP,CAN(open) or
Industrial Ethernet interfaces for several existing FA product ranges. You
will generate new ideas and conceptual designs for products to be developed.
In this respect you will be closely co-operating with departments for
marketing and product planning in Japan and Europe. You will be giving
world-wide technical support for these products, as well as for proprietary
networking solutions in Europe. You are also responsible for testing of the
afore mentioned products and will safeguard their high reputation in
quality. Furthermore you will be actively involved and contribute to
achieving the mission and objectives of the FA Communications Group.

Education, prior work experience, and specialised skills and knowledge
? A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or Electrical Engineering.
? Several years of relevant product development experience, preferably in an
international environment.
? Experience with / knowledge of industrial communication systems [such as
Industrial Ethernet, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, CAN(open)] is a plus.
? Excellent command of the English & Dutch is a major plus
? Willingness to travel incidentally.
