Hey all, hope studying is going well. I have this mnemonic which may/
may not help with remembering the amino acids. It's kinda long but it
groups the AAs into categories describing their properties. Some of
them work better than others.

Three Seas. (Threonine and Serine are like water with -OH groups)

Glue the negative Asp. (Aspartate and Glutamate are negative)

ok ok, this one is a stretch...
As in, Cute amine - asparagine and glutamine (cute-amine) - except the
side chains contain amides not amines

His Lyce Are positively gross. (His, Lys, and Arg are positive)

Tyrone Tryppped and Phel on a large, hydrophobic side chain
(Tyrosine, Tryptophan and Phenylalanine have large aromatic side
chains, Tyrosine also has an -OH group)

I Met Val, Al and Leu in Nevada (they are in the desert because they
cannot swim, Isoleucine, Methionine, Valine, Alanine and Leucine are
hydrophobic)

Glyding gly (Glycine glides because it only has a hydrogen as its R-
group)

Cysters hold hands outside (Cysteine forms disulfides in the oxidizing
environment outside the cell)

PrO forms a ring on the main chain (Proline)

If you know all the one letter abbreviations then this might help

CYN QTS (Seein' cuties)  are all polar amino acids
Cysetine, Tyrosine,Asparagine,   Glutamine, Threonine, Serine

KHR (Que Hora) All basic amino acids
Lysine, Histidine, Arginine

DE (de) All the acidic amino acids
Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid

And the rest are non polar
