If you're looking for help for depression or some other mental
illness, avoid hospitals and community mental health associations.
You can be involuntarily committed for weeks before you get a
hearing. And they will charge you thousands of dollars for your own
commitment. It just happened to my mother in NJ.

Here in Britain, where if you're in hospital it's at THEIR expense, I've
never heard of any depressed person being committed "on spec" in this way.
It sometimes takes a bit of arguing to get into a mental hospital (for
depression at least) if you do need it! It's mainly in America, where
people actually pay to be committed to a mental hospital, that so many
people are committed for no good reason.
Does this suggest anything to anybody?

It sounds extremely dangerous for a government which operates the
mental hospitals to have the power to commit people to those
hospitals. Soviet Communists incarcerated political dissidents in
mental institutions, on the theory that anyone who thought Communism
was corrupt must be insane. And the UK has begun locking up fat
people in mental hospitals, on the grounds that the health problems
associated with obesity constitute harm to one's self, and is thus a
mental disorder.

My own family had to go to court to commit my brother after he went
insane from too much crystal meth. This was after the public mental
hospital refused to admit him, even after being transported there by
police several times. A judge finally ordered an evaluation after he
attacked a neighbor's car with a vacuum cleaner in the middle of the
night, but the Dr. Fucking Phil at the hospital said he was fine and
the judge released him after a week.

Yeppers!

America's Totalitarian government love to parade American's have a
self-pity party owing to selling their home to pay for medical
treatments they wanted to have as if they are representative of the
45,000,000 Americans without health coverage.

In fact, the overwhelming majority of Americans without health
insurance lack health insurance because they OPTED not to sign up for
health insurance "fringe" benefits and/or "free" public health care
they're eligible IF ONLY they would sign up for it.

Not all, but, some of the people who opt not to sign up for health
insurance "fringe" benefits and/or "free" public health care because
they know that a lack of health insurance decreases their chances of
being compelled to undergo medical "treatment" by the barrel of the
local sherriff's gun.

They know too many people who were arrested, locked up in a hospital
bed, then released without charge after racking up a $10,000 bill
they have to pay, either because they lack insurance, or, because,
it was out of their HMO or PPO network.

Those of us who hail from America's private sector also know the
sociopathy of the members of America's parasitic class of workers
sucking at the public tit is such that they formed criminal cartels to
bribe American legislators to enact laws which permit them to purchase
the goods and services of America's private sector at the price they
fetch in the open, whilst exempting all the members of America's
parasitic class of workers from having to made do on the peanuts their
own shoddy goods and services fetch in the market, AND, they
demand the Americans footing the bill for their parasitic existence
be subjected to Loser Attitude Re-Adjustment Training at Re-Education
Camps aka Psychiatric Hospital until such time as they come around to
seeing how rightness and justness of the laws enacted which compel
americans to purchase the shoddy goods and services of America's
sociopathic doctors, attorneys, teachers, law enforcement agents,
firemen, postal workers, public transit workers, intelligence
agents, military personnel, psychologists, social workers, local/
state/federal civil servants, and employees of government contractors
at 5-100 times the peanuts their shoddy goods and services fetch in
the free market.

Thus far, one could decrease one's risk of being formally LARTED by
America's gangsters with degrees and Gangsters in black robe by opting
not to sign up for any health insurance fringe benefits or "free"
public health care.

The entire thrust of the legislation which Pelosi and America's other
sociopathic legislators are endeavoring to get enacted is to renege on
it's obligations to America's seniors and criminalize Americans who
opt not to sign up for the health insurance fringe benefits or "free"
public health care they are eligible for.

Pelosi and America's sociopathic legislators have ZERO intention of
repealing all the various laws compelling America's private sector to
sell their own goods and services at the price they fetch in the free
market, whilst also compelling Americans to purchase the shoddy goods
and services of America's sociopathic doctors, attorneys, judges,
teachers, law enforcement agents, firemen, intelligence agents,
military personnel, psychologists, social workers, local/state/
federal civil servants, and government contractors at a price which
is 5-100 plus times what their shoddy goods and services would fetch
in the open market.

Needless to say, Americans aren't going to invest one red cent in
rebuiliding the private sector until america's legislators repeal the
laws exempting the members of America's parasitic class of workers
from having to sell their shoddy goods and services at the price their
shoddy goods and services fetch in the open marked.

Since Socialism doesn't outlive it's bankrupting a nations treasury,
it will be replaced by Totalitarianism, who will MURDER even more
people then the 169,000,000 whom Totalitarian Governments have
Murdered over the last 100 years.

Tests showed that the cancer, started in the breast, had moved to the liver.
The crime cult claims the can cure anything with their phony mental health
CON Dianetics and touch assists. On August 6th she went back to the
hospital, where she died. "She died - says Michieletto - because she didn't
follow treatment. Dianeticists can act like this. According to them, every
disease is psychosomatic, and they treat it with a 'touch assist'. And so,
at the age of 55, my wife died."

man from the town of Grossbettlingen had spent within five weeks
70,000 DM (~40.000$) for courses, books and vitamin pills to the
Stuttgart Scientology Org. Then he started to wake up and demanded
his money back. The reporter quotes from Mack's letter to the
Org: "Now that I've managed to distance myself a little from you,
I've realized, what I have gotten myself into here....The auditing
and the courses did in reality much more damage to me than they
eventually helped. That is why I want to leave now."."

Relatives found the 37-year old Wilhelm Mack hanged in his

It happened to a friend of mine too. He was being treated by his own
psychiatrist for depression but also went to one of those community
centers, which sent him to a hospital implying he would get evaluation
and help without charge. The "screener" determined that he was a danger
to himself and a psychiatrist approved a commitment without even
examining the guy.

He ended up getting bills from hospitals, labs, doctors, etc. for
thousands of dollars, and he doesn't have insurance. So now he has
financial headaches on top of his depression.

You can be committed for up to 20 days without a court hearing. Even a
week's hospital stay costs about $30,000 in NJ.

True. But it's not really the government that gets to decide - it's the
doctors, who are generally independent to the point of contrariness. I
suppose the government could legally require them to commit certain people,
but it could do that anyway. The law applies to everyone. The only
difference is that in Britain the government pays the doctors' wages, in
America the patients pay. In both countries, certain unscrupulous doctors
act accordingly. I never heard that about the fat people, where did you
hear that?

Filthy thing to happen. The bottom line is, if "expert witnesses" are
allowed to tell a court the sky is green and get away with it, this kind of
thing is always going to happen occasionally, in any country. Was that in
Britain or where was it?

Nonsense. The people without medical insurance lack it primarily
because they are unemployed or their employer does not offer it. And
"free" health care is available only if you're practically destitute.
In any case, that is not the point of this thread. The point was
that the government forced a person to be involuntarily committed and
pay for the expense herself. And she was depressed, not dangerous.

I don't get you. Why would not having insurance make you any less likely to
be committed? The psychiatrists get paid just the same, and surely they are
just the same psychiatrists. Or aren't they? (I'm English and not all that
well up on the details of the American health service.)

Surely if the doctors judges etc. etc. overcharge, the American government
would be as eager as anyone to put a stop to it? I expect they have as much
difficulty as ours getting their budget to add up. I know you'd say they
could just take it out of the taxpayers, but you can only do that so much
without being thrown out on your ear at the next election.

arguing for government health insurance, but now we've got the worst

"In 2003, a BlueCross BlueShield Association study esti mated that
about 14 million of the uninsured were eligible for programs such as
Medicaid and SCHIP. These people would be signed up for government
insurance if they ever made it to the emergency room.

In addition, some of the 46 million could theoretically afford health
coverage, but chose not to purchase any. In 2007, 17.6 million of the
uninsured had annual incomes of more than $50,000 and 9.1 million
earned more than $75,000. As Sally Pipes notes in the Top Ten Myths of
American Health Care: A Citizen’s Guide, those making more than
$75,000 per year are part of the fastest-growing segment of the
uninsured population."

Did they beat, torture, rape, and attempt to murder her with their

they could pillage, plunder and defraud her?
