- USE PROPER ENGLISH : In any mailing list use of proper English (this is an exception to mailing list
where English is not used) is mandatory. Any SMS kind of language
should not be used. It is also required because everybody who is
checking archives of our previous mails should be able to understand.
It is also advised to do a spell check before sending. Do not worry we
are human beings these mistakes can happen :). Do not use slang
language.
- DO NOT USE EXTRA DOTS : Why use extra dots ("............."). One is sufficient.
- DO NOT DO TOP POSTING : Top posting means when you are replying to somebody's email do not start typing on the top. Use IN-LINE or BOTTOM posting. You can type in between thing so that people can understand what you are replying to.
- DO NOT TYPE IN BLOCK LETTERS : Typing in block letters means you are shouting in mailing lists and in IRC. Use Block letters only when it is required to draw attention.
- USE PROPER SIGNATURE : Use small and proper signature.
- MARK OFF-TOPIC POSTS : Mark an OFF-TOPIC post as OT or OFF-TOPIC in the subject line.
- SNIP OFF UNNECESSARY LINES: While replying to a post snip off unnecessary lines.
- DO NOT SPAM : Never send spam messages and invitations from other social networking sites etc.
