successful premiere, and news on the next one...

I.e. In the last issue, I said that Rising was tentatively scheduled
for April 8th. But it was tentative. In fact, at least part of it
will be performed by Worldmuse on Friday, April 17th instead. Still
at 8pm, still at Sulzberger Parlor in Barnard Hall, 3009 Broadway at
117th St, third floor (on the Barnard College campus, take the 1 train
to 116th street). It’s a little weird having my music returning to
Sulzberger Parlor, which is basically where it started 10+ years ago.
But there you have it. And the concert has two other (pre-)premieres,
too – it should be a great show!

I.fç. Dans le dernier, j’ai écrit que Rising était fixé provisoirement
1e 8 avril. Mais, c’était tentative. En fait, au moins une partie de
l’œuvre aura chanté par Worldmuse plutôt le 17 avril. Encore à 20h,
encore à Sulzburger Parlor de Barnard Hall, 3009 Broadway à la 117eme
rue (sur le campus de Barnard College, prenez la ligne 1 à 116th
Street). C’est un peu bizarre que ma musique retourne à Sulzberger
Parlor, où elle a virtuellement commencé il y a 10 ans. Mais voilà.
Et il y a dans le concert aussi 2 autres (pré-)créations – ce sera
extraordinaire !

II.e. I got back from Minnesota about a week ago, where I had a great
week of rehearsals, concerts, light snow, and connection-building.
Nuevos Misterios (http://www.nissimmusic.org/music/
nuevosmisterios.shtml) got a great performance from Marc and Tami
(http://www.flyingforms.org), and a great response from the audiences
at the Schubert Club and at House of Hope Church. There’s even a
video of the performances, but I don’t have it yet. We’ll have to
wait until next month for that…

II.fç. Je suis rentré il y a une semaine de Minnesota, où je suis
passé une super semaine de répétitions, de concerts, de neige légère,
et de networking. Nuevos Misterios (http://www.nissimmusic.org/music/
nuevosmisterios.shtml) a reçu une création magnifique de Marc et Tami
(http://www.flyingforms.org), et une bonne réponse du publique au
Schubert Club et à House of Hope Church. Il y a même une vidéo – mais
je ne l’ai pas encore. Il faut attendre au mois prochain …

III.e. I’ve been really busy getting ready for the trip to Minnesota,
and then being in Minnesota, so there’s not much else to talk about.
So… Upcoming projects: I want to finish Sunken for solo piano in the
next couple of weeks and then turn my attention to the two orchestral
projects – the Algerian orchestration, and a piece for the Triangle
Youth Philharmonic (I played with them when I was in high school)

III.fç. Je suis été très occupé en préparant le voyage à Minnesota,
et puis en été à Minnesota, donc il n’y a pas grand-chose à discuter.
Alors, les projets d’avenir : J’ai envie de terminer Sunken pour piano
seul dans les 2-3 semaines suivantes et puis je tournerai vers les
deux projets orchestral – l’orchestration de la chanson algérienne et
une pièce pour le Triangle Youth Philharmonic, dont j’ai joué pendant
lycée.
