It's a wonderful answer to over population. Is it sponsored by the Sierra Club ? Maybe Green Peace ? it's got man-hater written all over it. I see it as step one. Step two is when the Barry administration says we can't ride anymore because fixing up riders who lane-split are costing the nation too much. Turn in your motorcycles (guns too) When was the last time any part of government did anything good for riders ? Repeal the helmet laws ? That was real good too. Fatalities up in PA for riders by 18%. Typical. You only think they are cutting you a break. It always pays for them. How about no speed limits for bikes ? That'd help the cause. Less right wing voters. Bikers usually are free spirited, free thinkers. Some are even ex-service... you know they can't be trusted.

In the state of California it IS legal but the rider must not go more than 10 mph faster than the cars they are passing and traffic must not be going over the posted speed limit. I split lanes all the time in heavy traffic and I usually do well... I understand that it juristically increases my chances of getting into an accident and I have been in a few accidents while splitting lanes over the past 12 years but I don't push my luck and I don't split lanes at high speeds. There are people that will split lanes at reckless speeds... usually the same idiots that try to do stunts out on the highway and/or are just reckless riders/drivers in general. Anyway those are the guys that give motorcycles a bad reputation because those are the guys that usually kill themselves and or somebody else.
