There will be a memorial for bassist/composer, Bob Bowen this Monday,
September 27, from 5:30-10 pm at the Irondale Theater in Brooklyn, 85
S. Oxford Street.
Bob was not only a great musician & bassist, he was one of the most
sensitive, thoughtful, positive, warm people I know. This is such a
great loss; Bob will be missed on so many levels. Bob always went out
of his way to include people and be supportive of others playing. He
was my friend and a friend to many.
Bob was also the father of two beautiful children: Bobby and
Stella. I played in Bob's trio every Christmas for their schools. Bob
also played in some of my groups over the years.
Here are directions from the Irondale's website:

Friends, family and colleagues have asked about ways to make a
contribution in memory of Bob Bowen. His family is so grateful for
the interest and generosity.
Bob was a loving father to two children, Bobby, age 10, and Stella,
age 8. A trust is being established in their names.
