I have a pencil drawing done on a piece of canvas (mounted on a wooden frame) and I'm trying to fidure out what to do with it.  I'd like to frame it but I was wondering if you could treat it somehow (the charcoal will smudge easily when touched) maybe with a spray?

Thanks.

I would be real careful with spraying it, it may run. I'd go to Decor
Framing or somewhere like that, they are used to working with all kinds
of prints.

I thought there was sort of art spray. Check with Spurrel Gallery or
MF Kelly..

MF Kelly wouldn't have the product if, and a big if, they even knew what
your talking about.
Decor Framing is about the best place to check out.
There are sprays out there for paper and the like but not sure how they
would affect the canvass.
Check with Decor for sure.

There is a fixative spray that you can use. I've sprayed numerous pencil
drawings will no ill effects. Kelly's should have it. It's a white can.
I just can't remember exactly what it's called.

The product is indeed a "Fixative" spray and the brand is KRYLON.
Kelly's has it or a similar brand. Fixatif is a common holding spray for
pencil drawings, pastel, and other graphic media. It will hold your
drawing to the canvas. There are also other sprays available which will
seal the drawing even more permanently.

Aside from Kelly's, another source would be St. Michael's at Stavanger...
