Just returned from a couple of field stints. While cycling (back
roads) between Hughe's Brook and Glenburnie, birds of note included
good numbers of Pine Grosbeaks, two Tennessee Warblers and an
Northern Hawk Owl. Returning from Piping Plover surveys at Big
Barasway (4 pairs, mostly with near-to-fledged young) we noted a Great
Blue Heron on two occasions (possibly two different birds given the
distance).
We're off to do some Peregrine falcon surveys and prey delivery
observations in north-central Labrador in a week.
