There has been a major influx of Cave Swallows in the north east over
the last five days. Each day they get farther east and in larger
numbers. Today for example there were 100+ at Cape May, New Jersey, 30
at one location in Connecticut, a few in each US State all the way to
New Brunswick. In New Brunswick there was one on Grand Manan Island
today and six in upper Bay of Fundy yesterday. The only bird from Nova
Scotia so far was on Cape Breton Island in the Sydney area! Next stop
is Newfoundland.

There have been a few Barn Swallows mixed in but the default swallow
right now would seem to be Cave Swallow which for those who don't know
looks like a Cliff Swallow. Now is the time for Newfoundland to add
this to the provincial list. Seems they are quite attracted to
buildings.

The SW winds in the forecast can only help.
