We saw a gorgeous, male Rose-breasted Grosbeak at our feeder this evening. He is in full breeding plumage. Other birds seen in the yard this week: Purple Finch, American Goldfinch, Pine Grosbeak, White-throated Sparrow, Grackle, Fox Sparrow, Tree Swallows, and the usual suspects.

This evening I also saw an immature Bald Eagle in a tree in the woods between Second Pond and Third Pond. I've seen them flying overhead plenty of times but this was the first time I've seen one perched in the forest area. I was standing right underneath him before he flew away.

In addition to the RBGB today, there was a Red Crossbill and our first Pine Siskin of the year.
