Attempted Armed Robbery

On February 13, 2012 at approximately 11:50a.m., an attempted armed
robbery was reported to the Newton Police Department. The male victim
was walking north on High Street when a Maroon Nissan pulled onto
Division Street and stopped. Three unknown black males exited the
vehicle and demanded the victim's belongings. One black male
reportedly pulled out a handgun during the incident.

However, the actors did not obtain anything from the victim and he was
unharmed. The actors (who were unknown to the victim) eventually
drove off reportedly heading east on Division Street.

This appears to be an isolated incident and is currently under
investigation.
