CDS Arrest, Drug Paraphernalia, Alcohol Violations, etc.

On 12/15/09 at 9:47p.m., Newton Police responded to the area of the
Sussex County Community College for a report of a subject possibly
consuming alcohol and using CDS within a motor vehicle. Subsequent
investigation by responding officers revealed that the lone occupant
of the vehicle was consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana while on
the college grounds. In his possession were the following: (1)
package of brass screens, (15) small plastic bags, (2) small plastic
bags containing less than 50 grams of suspected marijuana and (1)
glass smoking pipe containing suspected marijuana. All items were
retained as evidence.

As a result, the actor, Ryan Kerrins, age 20, of Sussex, NJ was
charged with the following:

NJS 2C:33-15a Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age
39:4-49.1 Possession of CDS in MV
39:4-51A Consumption of Alcohol in MV
5-15.2 Consumption and Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Public
Places Prohibited

He was processed and released pending a future appearance in Newton
Municipal Court.
