Bug or feature: opening app from icon resets to home

not sure if is a bug or a feature.
when i'm using NR, and then go do something else, if i click on the NR
icon, it will open on the main page, instead of resuming where I left
reading.

I had to explicitly configure it this way. 

Launching NewsRob from the home screen is the only way how to get back to the initial state. If you want to go back to the last state use the task switcher (long press home).

I know. its what i've been doing.
but the first times, it lead me to loose what I was reading, before i
did a few tests, and realized it was working like that.

I was trying to understand if it was really a bug or feature.
