I'm interested in running newsbeuter on OS X. Any advice? It looks
like STFL is the tricky part - I found mention of editing the Makefile
but saw no directions on what changes to make...

Anyone?

I've been running newsbeuter on OSX for quite a while without any
problems. Are you running into issues compiling it?

Yes. I need STFL and have zero idea about how to get it working...

I've got STFL running; I could send you the diffs to the makefile & a
source file or two that I had to make to get it to compile.

Anyways, when I get some free time I've been planning on rolling it
into a Macport as well.

I'd love to get your files. I think my email address is on this post?

It would be great if you could post the files online somewhere, I am
also trying to compile STFL and keep banging my head against the wall.

Cheers,

I've mirrored the STFL Subversion repository on GitHub, and I've
created an 'osx' branch where my changes have been applied. Please
note that I'm a total hack when it comes to Makefiles/C++, so the
changes I made might be completely idiotic, but it compiles. Also, it
assumes you have used /opt/local as the location where most of your
dependencies have been installed (the macports default).

You can find the repository here:

http://github.com/jperras/stfl/tree/master (see the 'osx' branch)

If anyone has advice to make the Makefiles more intelligent, I'm all
ears.

I've also pushed the minimal changes I've made to Newsbeuter itself to
get it to compile on OSX with the same configuration specified in my
STFL mirror (i.e. macports in /opt/local).
