linux newsreader suggestion wanted

I want a newsreader for linux with the following features: SSL support, configurable color scheme and configurable keybindings. It should be possible to do most of the work on the keyboard.

getting messages

I started with thunderbird, thinking that it would be a good way to have a news client. I subscribed to a few groups that I follow and it seemed too work. Now, I look for new messages, and thunderbird tells me there are no new messages in comp.lang.c, for example, for 3 days running. That doesn't happen.... more »

40tude Dialog - fonts

The font rendering on Dialog running under wine on Linux is atrocious, apparently something to do with wine itself and not likely to be fixed anytime soon (so Google tells me). Anyone manages to get the fonts looking half decent? It's almost enough to turn one back to slrn...

Finding specific post in heavily used newsgroups?

I use Xnews and am wondering if there is an easier way to find a specific post in a newsgroup that is used heavily (alt.binaries.tv). The way I do it now (after finding the post date in Newabin.com) is do an alt/enter on the group which brings up the "set number of headers to retrieve" window.... more »

Do you know which newsreaders support Cancel-Lock/Cancel-Key generation? If a newsreader needs to generate a Cancel-Lock header how the hash needs to be built? thank you
