I'm using slrn 1.0.0.pre18.-1.1 with linux debian.
I have this problem .
I'm reading posts : some of them have all black lines and are ok ;
others posts , casually , after some lines black there is a coloured
line
and after the lines are black.
The coloured line is not a reply , but is the same post.
Which is the problems ?
Thanks.

From your precise and detailed description of the situation I
will venture a guess.

The different colors are different quote levels.

In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice they are not.

No, no .... I'm using slrn from years and I know it. Before, with Debian
Lenny , it was all ok ; now , with Debian Squeeze I have this problem.
The coloured lines are casuals : some posts are ok , other no. This is
in a single post , without reply . In a single post there are 10 lines
all black ; in an other single post there are , for example , 5 lines
all black , 1 line red , 4 lines black.

Thanks.

Apparently Julie Faramis doesn't recognize you, and doesn't realize that
the post in question is radically out of character.

Those of us who have read your posts for a while recognize the forgery
immediately. We don't even need no stinkin' headers, as I already
indicated in an earlier post.

Do the coloured lines begin with a character included in the ignore_quotes
setting in ~/.slrnrc? (The default pattern is "^ ? ?[><:=|]" - I've found
it better to set "^??[>|]" instead).

It's that tholen bot -- an incredibly boring troll.
I suspect at least some of its posts are generated by a
perl script -- or maybe it's just all thorazined out.
There's obviously something minimally alive behind it...

One program I listened to today interviewed an author who wrote about
the Turing Test. It was, IIRC, Whad'Ya Know, http://www.notmuch.com, but
I can't find today's show there, so I can't verify it.

Anyway, Hieronymus or whoever is almost passing the test :-)
