Confirmed.
Like me, you seem to have an emergency news server set up.

But unlike me, you don't seem to have set up a female sockpuppet for
use with news.shared-secrets.com some time in the distant past. :-)
But Jenna Stannis is one of my fictional heroes, so I'll probably be
JS until motzarella.org is up again.
Hmmph.

Motzarella is one of my emergency newsservers. Too bad it seems to be
down atm. :-o

Well, actually not, maybe? I'm posting through my ISP's server so I
suppose it might be considered my primary. Anyway, I use Motzarella
most of the time due to the continual problems with Cox's Highwinds
servers so who knows which is "primary" and which is "emergency"?

I wanted to set up a sockpuppet as "Klem Kadiddlehopper" but I haven't
the gall to steal an identity from anyone as talented as the late Mr.
Skelton....
Yeah it is down, but I got me a replacement (for the time
being ) It can be seen in the headers, and it doesn't need
registration. I think it's text only, but this is what I
need and the few groups I'm reading I could subscribe to.

Hi, don't know if its back up yet, but perhaps its worth going to
their website to check for status reports before panicking...
<Cut-n-paste>
2008-08-01 12:52:41 Motzarella outage
Motzarella was completely offline from Thursday, July 31, 22:00 CEST until
Friday, August 1, 13:00 CEST due to an unspecific hardware failure.
Currently, the news spool is being rebuilt and the news server is expected
to be back online at 14:00 CEST
<\Cut-n-paste>
It might be a free service, but it's "up there" with whats going on with
its own machinations. And probably will be back before too long...

Tried that, of course, their website was also down.

It's back...

Since this AM here. There's a note on the website about it, it was a
loooooooong outage.

A good thing I don't use it as my "main" newsserver. (Although I can
always fall back to the newsserver that my ISP offers...)

Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp
out of the blue, no explanation. (Cox 1984)

And here I thought she might be an American pr0n star...

I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow
isn't looking good, either.
I am BOFH. Resistance is futile. Your network will be assimilated.
Motzarella is back up and I miss Jenna already...

Yes, I've been reading that in other groups as well. It was back up and
running and carrying their notice by the time I'd checked.

It was up when I tried yesterday morning, it was apparently down for a
very long time....
