Hi Snipe. Yes, I imagine this would be a whole bunch of eek, if
coming from a MacSoupy history... the non-off-line aspect, the least
of it.
I'm curious of differences between Xnews on Crossover and Wine - if
there are any differences or improvements by going to Crossover.
I probably _should've_ DL'd Crossover myself when the opportunity
arose, but figured, nah, I already have Xnews running OK (to a point)
under Wine and its about the only Windows prog that I want to use
outside of Windows, so why bother... but I wish I had bothered
really, lazy sod that I am.
To get Xnews running almost as well as it runs on a Windows box
(under Wine) I needed to copy over the Windows fonts I wanted to use,
and several .DLLs too. Even so, there were a couple of dialogs that
are still an unresolved & unfixed problem.
One of those dialogs is "Keyboard Mapping" (Ctrl + K). Under Wine
this dialog is blank. i.e. You cannot see the keyboard commands that
you can (under Windows), which can be normally user-set. Its
irritating issues like this that I was wondering, if Crossover was
what was needed to eliminate and move towards.
Can you launch Xnews then type "Ctrl + K" or choose "Keyboard
Mapping" from the Xnews "Special" menu and tell me what you see.
Thanks.
