Hello,
Pan 0.133 tells me: "news.gmane.org requires a password, but none is set."
I filled in a password at my own deliberation but Pan still keeps
telling: news.gmane.org requires a password, but none is set."
I can subscribe to groups in news.online.de though.
I filled in a form in http://gmane.org/subscribe.php.
What went wrong?

Regards,
Detlef Lechner

You should configure your news.gmane.org news server in Pan's Edit
without a user/pass.

news.gmane.org does not require user/pass. It has a process of
auto-authentication based on your having a good email in your From or in
the Reply-To if one is configured.

Most of that page is about subscribing mailing lists carried by gmane.

Read this page instead about posting http://gmane.org/faq.php What
happens after I post to a Gmane newsgroup?

Configure Pan for no user/pass for news.gmane.org. Configure Pan to
have a good working address in the From for that account and no
Reply-To. Configure your mail account for the address to not filter
gmane's authentication mail.

It appears that your From here is a working addy DL...@gmx.net
