17 minutes to retrieve an article

What you see in the attached log happened with nn/6.7.3 connected to the
news.albasani.net NNTP server. I'm getting similar hang-ups with my
provider's newsserver too (INN 2.4.5).
These long delays show up whenever nn has been left inactive for [some]
minutes (about 15 in this case). It looks like it does not 'know' that... more »

Too long .newsrc

Panix has a news server with very long expiration times. But nn seems
to have an issue with that.
If you read-up the group, no problem. But if you keep
unread articles, it gets longer. For example:
alt.radio.networks.npr: 1-22516,22527,22530,22536-2253 7
