[emailed to abuse@{all domains}]
Hello,
I, along with several others, have been monitoring the traffic originating
from news-service.com. It's clear that this is a rouge site and their
sole purpose is to propagate spam.
In the last 3 days alone 84334 articles of spam, mainly child porn, has
flowed into the Usenet news system from them. Abuse complaints have been
ignored and the abuse continues as I write this.
A log file of the abuse from just the last 3 days is available here:
http://www.usenetabuse.com/newsservice.log
Abuse on such a grand scale can not be ignored. All normal methods for
abuse handling have been tried in vain. At this point de-peering the
rouge server is required to protect the Usenet system.
At the current time it appears that the following Usenet sites are
propagating spam for news-service.com:
kabelfoon.nl
euro.net
netcologne.de
giganews.com
100proofnews.com
newshosting.com
xsnews.nl
A response announcing your position on the issue would be most welcome.
The unquestionable proof is in the log files, but if anyone requires
anything further let me know.

Anyone have a working contact for the people who run feeder.xsnews.nl?
They peer with glorb.com.
Thanks.
Steve did you get my e-mail? I thought giganews had depeered them?

The law enforcement aspect is totally separate. Regardless if your local
laws prohibit pictures of nude 8 year old kids in unnatural poses,
everyone agrees that spamming is not to be tolerated. Posting the same
URL branded pictures hundreds of times, to hundreds of newsgroups, can
not be allowed.

Have you bothered to review the logs? The >only< thing that is coming
from their server are the same advertisements for same web sites. Review
the logs and find five (5) non-spam messages of the hundred thousand
posted from their server in the last few days.

Kiddie Porn and network abuse are indeed two separate issues. When
Both Kiddie Porn and massive network abuse are condoned by a rogue
NNTP server/ISP (perhaps even protected) wouldn't it make sense too
not only report the abuser to proper authorities but to also target
the server that is permitting the abuse to repeatedly occur?
Thank you for burning all these addresses. Thank your for all the abuse
staff of these ISPs having it much more harder to sort the complaints
from the crap. With this "tactics", you only achieve that the real
complaints (which we surely want to deal with) probably are ignored,
because nobody can find them in the crap any more...

Viruses and most spammers won't bother about that, they will just
search the drives or usenet for anything containing a "@".
Dont see you writing UDP against Shared-secrets.com

When I see them bulk spamming it on the same massive apoplectic scale
as news-server was I'll be the first one in line writing complaints.
I haven't seen any shared-secrets spam. Never even heard of it.
It sounds as if your upset because of an isolated spam situation.
why don't you post some headers... some whois info

You haven't seen it, because you don't know where to look, and it is

Grow up. You sound like a cry-baby.
"If you catch yourself saying, 'someone should do something about this',
that someone should be you."
BTW- I just saw, npeer.de.kpn-eurorings.net!feeder.news-service.com flow

As you can see, I'm fighting a loosing battle. If you want your own
loosing battle, go for it, but don't get me involved as I already have
several.

Thanks I just gathered I was dealing with a troll and plonked him
news-service.com has reacted in diffferent ways. The email-contact
I had was fast, efficient and competent.
A new abuse-policy was created and published by them:
http://www.news-service.com/doc/abuse-statement.pdf
Let's hope, at least this spamming has indeed stopped.

It's been pretty quite the last few days. I haven't seen any
news-service.com on my service for two or three days now. It all
seemed to dry up at once
Are you nuts? Since when was flooding the newsgroups with ads
appropriate for _any_ newsgroup? Regardless of what the pictures
are of, it is pure spam, plain and simple.
