Alright, the above post appears in Old Google Newsgroups but in none
of the New
Google Newsgroups. The above appears in sci.math, in Math Forum, and
all the newsgroups of old Google.
So what is the deal here for the New Google Newsgroups? Is everyone a
tin badge sheriff in the New Google, which can either hide a post of
someone you
hate, and can prevent posts from reaching the newsreader?
Somehow, if everyone can act like a self appointed sheriff of a
newsgroup, that Google should not be allowed to take the "underlying
Usenet" and create a environment where one poster censors other
posters. It is a denial of free speech.
I went to look if sci.physics.electromag had become a "moderated
newsgroup" for if it had become such, then I could see where a bully
like larryHar.. could mask and hide the posts of others if he were a
moderator. But he is not, and for him to run around in judgement of
others posts, hiding their posts or not allowing them to appear,
smacks me as breaking the Freedom of Speech laws.
Google should be prevented from their New Google Newsgroups if they
turn Usenet into a bully censoring arena.
I am reminded of a law about Art. Where an artist who painted a
picture and where scoundrels run around acquiring the original and add
something to the picture and then sign it as their own or use the
picture in a mocking manner from the original intent of the author. It
is a law of respect of an original artists work. So that if New Google
Newsgroups has these bully posters running around messing up the posts
of others with "This topic has been hidden because it was flagged for
abuse." Is the same thing as bullies running around acquiring the art
of artists and altering the painting.
So I say, if Google cannot preserve the freedom of speech that is
Usenet and Old Google Newsgroups, that Google should not be allowed to
use any Usenet posts. That Google should build a newsgroups from bare
scratch and not use the names sci.physics or sci.math or
sci.physics.electromag but build their own newsgroups from complete
scratch.
Because if you have a underlying Usenet, and thousands of bullies
attacking posters left and right by hiding their posts or blocking
their posts, then that is a
messing up of an original artists work.
Actually, I think Google made a mistake in wanting and trying to
change their Old Google Newsgroups and that they should just admit it
was a bad idea and revert back to the Old Google Newsgroups. Just
admit that it was a mistake to change something that worked, into some
new arena that is a haven for bullies.
