I received unsolicited email spam from this so called email address on Jan 4.
The email promoted marketing information and had the email address of
star-kenshel...@nicers.com to use when wanting more info.
No provision for being removed from their spamming list was provided.
According to the Received msgs, the msg passed from Sammy to erols.com.
When I contacted them, asking them if they had any policies regarding this
type of unsolicited, unwanted emails, I was informed that "Sammy" was using
"E-mail Cloaking Device" and "Net contact", which together extraces email addresses from
newsgroups and WWW, then sends email to these folk using a forged email
address. The contact at ab...@erols.com replied that as far as their Senior
System Administrators were concerned, these programs were legal and thus
there was nothing they could do about this type of use.
Anyone have specific details about the legal recourses users have in
stemming the tide of unwanted emails?
