Subject: AZoogle.com Retaliates for NANAE advice
After dispensing NANAE advice last night on tracking upstreams for
spammer AZoogle.com I received numerous spams from them starting at
1:00AM last night and continuing through the present time.  Prior to
yesterday I had no knowledge of them at all.

Some of the systems they used to spam are:

transport26c.azoogle.com [66.197.140.247])
transport24b.azoogle.com [66.197.140.231]
transport12e.azoogle.com [66.197.140.74])
transport12e.azoogle.com [66.197.140.74])
transport16a.azoogle.com [66.197.140.90])
transport21.azoogle.com [66.197.140.121
transport21a.azoogle.com [66.197.140.215
transport21b.azoogle.com [66.197.140.216
transport5d.azoogle.com [66.197.140.43
transport22.azoogle.com [66.197.140.122
reply.azoogle.com 66.197.140.3

Their upstream is Hostnoc.net and apparently connected to a known spam
group hosted by Sprint :

http://www.spews.org/html/S423.html
(May require some SPEWS additions based on this post)

HostNoc.Net             66.96.192.225
NS1.HOSTNOC.NET   66.96.193.3
NS2.HOSTNOC.NET   66.96.194.3

NS4.HOSTNOC.NET   205.162.51.249

So Sprint if you're listening ... Rob P ...

this kind of behavior really needs to be addressed.

It's unfortunate.  I recieved an increase in spams from Azoogle.com after
last night, too.  Right now, they're being redirected to my junk folder...I
can look at how many there are at any point.

Such a wonderful manner for a company of that sort to behave in, isn't it.
Thanks for the advice, Jeff...and sorry about that retaliation.

Its not really too much of a problem ... the more spam they send ...
the more attention will come down upon them ... Sprint really needed
to see what kind of "customer" they're holding ...

In addition to Sprint ... these are their spamvertised sites ... and
companies I've already larted:

Here's a few more domains I've recieved...
64.49.203.244 - http://www.heywhatzup.com - Verio mirror, I think.
161.58.187.158 - http://ads.websponsors.com - Not sure about this one, seems
to be innocent (aside from leaving annoying cookies and supporting
advertisers who send spam).

That first one I've recieved a lot, so it's probably just registered by the
spammers themselves -- yes, here's the registration info.  It's registered
to a "Websponsors.com".  Probably fake, in which case I can get the domain
suspended.  The provider appears to be DN.net, so I'm not sure of that.
Certainly, I'll be trying to contact everybody involved.

Sorry...misinformation on the last post.  Verio is the domain provider.  Do
they have a history of apathy towards those people who try to remove
spammers?  It's quite definite this person has been reported several hundred
times over.

DNS for Websponsors.com is from DN.Net

No, it's not apathy, it's thinly-vieled hostility.  Verio and Sprint are the
providers of choice for spammers, along with Broadwing.

And Verio hasn't done jack. <nod>

Um, apathy would be one way to describe it, but I'd characterize it as total
support for their spamming customers and total disregard for the rest of the
Net.  IOW, they don't give a damn what their customers do.  If there's any
doubt, look at everything that's been said here about
Postmastergeneral/Mindshare Design/mb00.net/pm0.net.  I nominated them for
the RBL a few days ago.  Not sure that will go anywhere, but it sure felt
good.

Best course of action with Verio is total blockage of their IP space.  Not
just mail, but every damn packet coming out of their network.  Flush them
all.  Believe me, if I was in a position to do that, I would in a heartbeat.
Since they're just doing DNS in this case, it may not help, but at least
none of their spammers would be able to send anything from there.  If enough
providers do this, maybe they'll start to rethink their behavior.
