Backscatterer.org - How to stay off the list
People often try to discuss incredible sounding stories as an excuse why their system does backscatter. I give therefore following public advice how to stay off the Backscatterer blocklist. 1. Do not use Sender-callouts aka Sender Verify aka SAV. 2. Reject emails to not existing users at your local domains.... more »

BACKSCATTERER - Reflexion.net
Hi guys, we use a spam filtering (amongst other things) application called Reflexion Total Control. We've just started seeing blacklistings for backscatter/sender callouts from this particular smarthost. Has anyone else noticed problems with this service and/or is there a solution other than removing the existing smarthost?... more »

Backscatterer - Expiry date passed but still listed
Hi, First I must apologise for backscattering in the first place. It transpires that our host (Pipex Webfusion) basically offer a choice of what to do about mail to unknown recipients: Accept it to a catch-all address, accept it and silently delete it, or bounce it. Two of the accounts were set to bounce,... more »

BACKSCATTERER
Okay, a customer is using BACKSCATTERER and they are blocking our e- mails. I checked our IP and it is currently listed but the last event was on 6/12/09 but won't be delisted until 3/01/2010. I thought the delisting was for only 4 weeks. Frankly I hadn't heard of this "service" until this happened -- the... more »

Backscatterer - can I get more detail on why my IP which does not allow incoming SMTP connections is blacklisted?
Hello, Our IP address, 66.150.201.227, is blacklisted with backscatterer.org. I am hoping to get more details about the event which caused this, because our SMTP configuration should not allow either email backscatter or any sender callouts. The configuration is like this: Incoming SMTP connections on this IP are totally blocked by our... more »

BACKSCATTERER - does your list verify the SMTP return code before listing IP addresses?
I see a possible issue with the Backscatterer DNSRBL. We have a server that is configured to reject messages with invalid recipients during the SMTP conversation. This is working properly and we are not sending asynchronous NDRs or backscatter. However, there is a sitution where some *valid* addresses are setup with permissions... more »

No longer Express delisting ?
IP 86.66.1.158 We have payed last monday (9/11) to "expressdeslisting" (Nş de reçu : 1049-8946-1579-6072) but we corrected the problem in our exchange server only this day (friday 13/11). We know that we have not worked in the good order but now we can't do a new "express delisting" because the system say "Expedited... more »

backscatter and mailing lists
To start off, I am quite familiar with the concept of backscatter. I also have confirmed all e-mail targets of the list in question. It is not a matter of an invalid recipient. The problem is this. Some of the recipients have a stricter SPAM blocking policy than my server does. They are fine with more false... more »
