Subject: Close out news items
Seems to me it would be good to be able to close out news items once
you have read them.  I love Google news, but I sometimes see the same
news item over and over again.  Once closed out, the news item would
be passed over for the feed, and a different item would display.

Just a thought...

Excellent notion! I've often thought this very thing.

To add to this, I'd like to so-call "bury" stories which don't
interest me in lieu of stories that do. I could click an Ignore button
and then it will add another different story to the section. This one
thing is similar to Digg's "bury" feature.

Although I must add that I really do not like Digg because of its
other feature of promoting most voted stories. The result is that
headlines end up being trash such as Paris Hilton's favorite color or
something just as UNinteresting or less newsworthy.
