1. Three of the four times I've been tipped while
face painting, were by black women.
***I am well paid for face painting so I never
expect tips and am not entirely comfortable
receiving them. However, in this situation, a tip
is a sincere gift of appreciation...and I don't
like to insult the giver by turning down the
gift. By the same token, it is bad form to
solicit tips, eat at the buffet (stealing), hand
out business cards (competing), sell souvenirs or
do anything not in the event contract. (I thought
this was an interesting observation, given that
blacks are less likely to tip waiters in
restaurants.)
2. Little black boys really seem to love their
maternal nurturers. Never has a white boy asked
for his mother's name scripted inside a heart.
Today, I painted several "tattoo" hearts with
names of moms and grandmoms inside.

Well, in my experience, when you open those things up, they're kinda squishy
and full of blood. How the heck do you write inside one of those things
anyway?

James S. Prine

I believe the context in question was over Wordy's tenure as a face painter.
Ed Zachary.
I was speaking solely from experiences as a face
painter. (with a dash of waiter experience
comparison.)
Face painting is tenure track? I had academia figured
all wrong.

That's why the mommas never turn in their felonious "boys" when the law
comes lookin'. Their "boys" could machine gun 40 people in a Starbucks
or LeMadelaine's and they would protect their "boys."
I think its an under-devolpment of their race.
