Chris Schmid, master walker extraordinaire, passed away on 2/13/13, at age 66.. Most of you know him from the hour - but he won more titles and set more age records than one can dream of..

Online info seems limited to short obit.

I am more accepting of my broken shoulder --
rest in peace Chris

Stunning indeed. I've been in several races with him over the past 4 or 5 years and have judged him numerous times.
He was an amazing athlete. I believe he owns several world masters records. What a loss to the sport.

That is devastating. He was registered for nationals and my target to beat. He was in prime fitness. Any info on the cause of death?
