I upgraded to Arizona.

To all the folks who worked on this upgrade, WELL DONE!!

The interface looks crisp, responds well, not slow at all;
The feed through is a tiny bit snowy but it's a huge improvement
I like the new Mapped shares
Recording is perfect, I can't tell a difference from feed through to
recording
The responsiveness is excellent

That's just a first impression.

Well done!! Well done!!

Okay, it's even gets better. Crisp crisp videos that were recorded
play perfectly on my IPhone and my IPOD Touch

Well, that's what the OSD was designed for, portable media, the video
recordings are crisper on these 2 devices then on my 42 inch Plasma.

Well done guys!

That has nothing to do with the OSD itself, but with the nature of human eyes and the difference in packing the same pixels together to fit on a 2 inch screen vs spreading those over a 42" diagonal surface.

:)

PS: I don't think the firmware changes the way the DSP encodes video, or does it?

Ok, let's go with your remark, it has nothing to do with the OSD, but
with the nature of human eyes and the difference in packing the same

to fit on a 2 inch screen vs spreading those over a 42" diagonal
surface??

First of all, there is a huge improvement watching the 640 x 480
recordings playing on my 42 inch Plasma after the Arizona upgrade.

Second, the 320 x 240 recordings on my IPOD Touch & IPhone are much
crisper after the upgrade to Arizona.

Maybe you're telling me my eyes must have been upgraded too,
since .................................??

Have you got any good comments to make??

I haven't upgraded yet. I just wondered aloud if a firmware update changes the encoding quality of the DSP.

Certainly could make a difference.

More efficient source code & improvements in operating system can
certainly affect video encoding by offloading processes from the main
processor.

But I speak of my experience with my TV, OSD, Iphone and IPOD Touch.
It's a very good experience!
