OSD2: serial connector break

Hi all,
The serial connector on my OSD2 board broke yesterday. The board has the IDE connector on the bottom, and so I'm blaming the fact that it didn't fit properly into the case, so came under undue stress. Anyway, I've spent some time trying to resolder the connections with no success. I have attached a photo of what I did, (red line indicates the connection I made), but it did not work.

I am worried that I may have destroyed the R105 resistor.

Could someone tell me the resistance of R105? (and R104 to be safe) And also tell me if I am doing the right thing?

Hi Gerry

No need to mount a resistor on R105 because there is nothing on R105 when the board is shipped to you.  Will you please clean up R103 first?  It seems there are some small soldering balls on R103 which may be the cause.

It appears by your pic that the resistors are zero valued resistors
with the exception of R105 which does not have a resistor soldered to
the pads.
(No value resistors are marked as 000).

These "no value" resistors are simply jumpers.

Hey Darren,
That makes 100% sense to me. I measured the resistors with my multimeter and they seemed to have zero resistance. This was why I was worried I had fried them with the iron.

I'm no electrical engineer :)
