Hi all,

Some people at my research group have developed a set of powerful algorithmic tools for network analysis that have been extensively anaized and tested. The problem, however, is that they have written it in ADA2005 code. They provide the compiled program but they are willing to share the source code as well. Upon seeing the capabilities of the program, it occurred to me that it might be a good idea trying to export or embed the algorithms into networkx.

I shared the idea with them and they are willing to collaborate provided some volunteers (with background in ADA2005) want to lend a hand in "translating" or embedding the program into the module. I think that would be a great asset for the package, in any case, if someone is willing to help, just let me know so we can see if we can organize something.

The program is freely available from here: http://deim.urv.cat/~sgomez/radatools.php

Regards

To get those algorithms into NetworkX they would need to be written in
Python. I'm not familiar enough with ADA to know if that is easy or
hard.

I don't think we have ADA programmers hanging around this list - other
than you :-). But if someone is interested please contact Oleguer.

Is it possible to first create a networkx python wrapper/interface to
the compiled ADA code? I think embedding other graph metrics and viz
from non python sources could be a asset to networkx.

A quick search found this:

That is an interesting option.

I am not a top programmer and the people that released RADATOOLS are
willing maybe to put a master student up to the task, but we'll leave
this issue on stand by to see whether some people is interested ('cos
it's going to be quite a task).

Best regards and thanks for the links!
