1.5
===

schrep: en-US 1.5 bits basically done pending last minute problems,
working to get as many l10ns ready by release date as possible.

timr: A lot of downloads, but not that much feedback. A lot of people
testing on community test day.

schrep: We got plenty of update testing from users updating to RC3.

Marketing
=========

asa: video campaigns: wrapping up documentation, finding judges and
sponsors. Hopefully wrapped up by end of this week.

People
======

Jonas Sicking started last week.

Future Releases
===============

schrep:
We'll start planning a scheduled 1.0.8 and 1.5.0.1 releases so we don't
have to do firedrills.

Further out, aviary 2.0 and 3.0 releases.

dveditz: What's schedule for Thunderbird 1.5?

mscott: Currently on hold due to QA resources. Not simultaneous with
Firefox 1.5.

bsmedberg: How will that affect branch closings, etc., for Firefox 1.5.0.1?

mscott: Hard to release stuff right around the holidays.

myk: Why is it 1.5.0.1, not 1.5.1?

schrep: bsmedberg can explain better; last dot is for security/stability
only, 1.5.1 would indicate API changes / additions. So extensions can
indicate 1.5.0.* compatibility.

schrep: We'll need to start talking about criteria for 1.5.0.1.
Definitely security, definitely not breaking APIs / extensions unless
needed for security, not sure about things in the middle yet.

schrep: See Firefox 2.0 planning wiki URL that beltzner sent out.

Onsite offsite
==============

schrep: Week of December 5, we're doing onsite meetings and discussions.
All employees, and we're also inviting some major contributors.

Foundation
==========

hecker: Last week I was in Canada, talking about certification
authorities, SSL UI, etc. Will blog about it.

Can someone explain to me what aviary 2.0 and 3.0 are?

Hi, Chris. (Thanks for maintaining your excellent FAQ site, BTW; it's a
true resource - for all of us.)

From http://www.bernzilla.com/item.php?id=122:

Equally exciting, though, is his mention of "Aviary 1.0," which,
according to the comments on Ben's site, will be the official
coming-together of the Mozilla *Bird applications to replace (or become)
the Mozilla Application Suite. For those of you who don't see the
relation between the word "aviary" and such an occurrence, see the
following definition (it helped me): A large enclosure for holding birds
in confinement.

Also, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202689 and
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Commonly_Used_Words#Other_Jargons.

Many are present in person and many attend by telephone. If particular
people want to tell you where they live or when they visit California,
that's up to them.

Thanks. I just wanted a general overview, no specifics about any of the
team members. "Many" for both satisfies my curiosity. :-)
