Hello,

Set up my son up a while back with SeaMonkey for his Newsgroup browsings
and postings. Nice program

Not for his e-mail; just for him to access all the various Newsgroups
via Motzarella-eternal-september

He's not in area, so I can't go down there to help him out easily.

He can't seem to find out how to have listed, called "Subscribing To" in
Thunderbird which I use, the newsgroups he is interested in.

I guess he can do the search for them OK, but can't figure out how to
pick them, "subscribe" to them, and have them show up subsequently in a
listing.

He's not very technical, so could I p[lease ask if anyone might list
the steps, very exactly, and where to go to implement them, in great
detail so I can pass it along to him on how to do this.

Really most appreciative.

Thank you very much,
Bob

With the Eternal-September server, there was something strange that you
have to do to create a listing. He's probably only got the option of
subscribing to their support newsgroup.

This is what _I_ found:

"Martin,

I think you need to activate your account. Go to Tools >Accounts and
highlight news.eternal-september.org and selected properties and under
the server tab, check the box, this account requires me to log on. Then
fill in the account name and password and you should be able to download
the remaining newsgroups."

Hi Folks,

Thanks so much for help.

His Motzarella account is apparently activated the way it should be.
He can read and post to the various newsgroups just fine.

What he is after is what is in Thunderbird and Outlook Express have also.

Just a way to "Subscribe" to newsgroups he likes, and have the list of
the subscribed to newsgroups show up (as a list).

Just like what Thunderbird has for the newsgroups.

Thanks again,
Bob

Should work just identical to how it work on Thunderbird, actually.
