I myself tell everyone to delete the XUL.mfl if something hangs in
Mozilla. I had to delete it some dozen times myself. I already thought
about a script just deleting the file every time I restart Mozilla. As a
first step I made a link to my profiles directory to be faster in
deleting XUL.mfl. It helps every time!
But what is this file actually good for? If it causes all the problems,
why not just delete it forever?
I know this could be a quiet stupid question but please tell me what
XUL.mfl stores that is so little important that I can just delete it.
Lars
It is a cache file for the UI and javascript, it speeds things up.

Thanks!
Well, if this XUL.mfl results in so much problems I'd prefer a slower
but more stable mail client. (It's not very funny writing long emails
and loose them again just because I had to kill Mozilla.)
Lars
Personnally I almost never have any problem with xul.mfl (and I change
of mozilla build at least 5 times a week !), I guess that there is a
common pattern to your bug, you are probably doing something that
triggers this bug routinely.
XUL fast load file. Contains precompiled chrome and JavaScript.
you can always turn to:

Thanks, I bookmarked the page!

Good idea! But it could get hard to find out what is causing my Mozilla
(1.2.1) to hang so often. It's always the mail client and it's always
when sending mails via IMAP. That's all I can tell by now.
If anyone is having the same problems, please tell me.
(Maybe I should try the nightly builds as well...?)
Lars
I know that Netscape users often have problems with the application
hanging if they have the option "empty trash on server" checked for IMAP
accounts, perhaps this bug exists in 1.2.1 too...
Not only "Empty trash on Exit" but also "Clean up Inbox on Exit. See Bug
#90805:
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90805
But I have unchecked both options.
