Hello,
When viewing a message in TB, there is this little plus (minus) sign
next to the message subject, to make the addressees appear (disappear).
Is there some keyboard shortcut or access key to do this?
I can’t find it anywhere in the View menu or elsewhere either.

That is not what I am asking for. Read carefully my description, I
cannot word it better.
Is there no way to do this inside TB? That is a serious flaw, if you
ask me. Not a good thing for users that can’t/won’t use a mouse...

Are you referring to the "+" or "-" sign that appears next to the first
message in a thread, and which expands or collapses the thread? If so,
you can expand a thread when the message (with the "+" sign next to it)
is selected by pressing the right arrow key. You can collapse a thread
by pressing the left arrow key to navigate up the thread until you are
on the message with the "-" sign, then pressing the left arrow will
collapse the thread.
Alternately, you can press "*" to expand all threads, or "\" to collapse
all threads. I don't know of a single key stroke to collapse just the
current thread. In a very deep thread, it can require multiple
pressings of the left arrow to climb to the first message, and only then
will the left arrow collapse the thread. I find it easiest if in that
situation to use "\", collapsing all threads, and then re-expand other
threads as necessary. YMMV.

I believe the Mnenhy extension provides this (and other) functionality:

This is a temporary e-mail to help me catch some s-p*á/m.
Also, if you're using a screen reader, the state of threads will not be
correctly read out. This resulted in me missing tons of messages before
I realized they could be opened and the replies were underneath. This
is interesting, as the new/unread/replied icons are read just fine.
