Ok. What did I do? I don't know what I did, but I can't download off of
Netscape 7.1. I can't even access the download manager. Downloads off of IE
are ok.

The message that I'm getting is: C:\Documents and Settings\John Smith\Local
Settings\Temp\XYZ.doc could not be saved, because the source file could not
be read. John Smith, and XYZ.doc are false; of course, and I'm using
Windows XP Home.

This happens on every site, and any file type.

If emptying your \John Smith\Local Settings\Temp folder doesn't help,
try deleting the downloads.rdf file in your profile's *.slt folder.

Thank you for your reply. Emptying the temp folder was the first thing I
did. I don't even have a, dowloads.rdf file. I made a false one out of a
blank text document, but no joy.

Thank you! That did it! Now the question is why this happened? It was a
clean install of Netscape 7.1, and had been running for a while.

Ok. Mine works now, but my wife's (different computer, same setup, OS,
etc.) running into the same problem. I backtracked, and did the same
thing with mine. It worked on her's, for about a week, but now the
problem is back, and the solution I used won't work this time. New
twists: Composer will save, eml's without images. Right clicking on the
image in the attachment window will save. Navigator will not save images,
pages, nothing! I've run Norton virus checks, spybot, etc. nothing. The
only thing I can think of would be the latest MS updates. Any input would
be truly appreciated!
