Maggots!

Couple things.  You could try a consensual organization like some of the folks in the current protest movements are refining and doing well with.   Reading through this document brings some interesting ideas when thinking about developing software this way. http://takethesquare.net/2011/07/31/quick-guide-on-group-dynamics-in-peoples-assemblies/    I don't know all the pitfalls of using this approach for game design, but it is interesting to think about in a simplified version with a defined task.

A great book that I recommend is The Art of Game Design, by Jesse Schell. http://artofgamedesign.com/   Very easy to understand advice on all aspects of the game design process.   He favors an iterative design approach.

This old game design document from Chris Taylor (Dungeon Siege designer) is also very helpful.  We have been using a modified version of it in a google docs shared by our design team for our projects and works very well.

Happy to help out as I can with game design issues. Have a lot of knowledge on what works and doesn't in social/mobile/games.   If you guys are looking just to rewrite the code with the classic gameplay, I'm not going to be of much help.

Hope this helps you twinks.

EUTH!

Yes, a consensus based organisational design would be very interesting.
